Paul Bozyk, MD, a Royal Oak specialist in internal medicine, pulmonary and critical care was elected to a one-year term as chair of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors during the MSMS Board of Directors meeting held in Dearborn on April 23rd.
In his role, Doctor Bozyk will preside over meetings of the 36-member Board of Directors. The MSMS Board sets policies and oversees operations for the medical society headquartered in East Lansing.
A graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, Doctor Bozyk previously served as vice chair of the MSMS Board of Directors, is a past chair of the MSMS Residents and Fellows Section and past chair of the Young Physicians Section, and has previously served as a regional director to the board, representing physicians from Oakland County. He is Associate Professor at Oakland University-William Beaumont School of Medicine and Section Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan. Doctor Bozyk is also a past-president of the Oakland County Medical Society. The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association operating as the voice of all physicians and medical students in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
