Wayne County Physician Talat Danish, MD, MPH, Elected to Help Lead State Medical Society

Talat Danish, MD, MPH, a pediatrician preventative medicine specialist, was elected to Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors during the 158th annual meeting of the MSMS House of Delegates held in Dearborn on April 23rd.

A graduate of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in India, Doctor Danish will serve a three-year term on the MSMS Board representing physicians from Wayne County. The MSMS Board sets policies and over sees operations for the 15,000-member medical society headquartered in East Lansing.

Doctor Danish serves as medical director for utilization management at Aetna Better Health of Michigan Inc. after working as a pediatrician and public health physician for several years.  She has more than 12 years of experience in public health and has previously served as medical director for the Wayne County Department of Public Health and for the Detroit Health Department. Doctor Danish received a Masters of Public Health from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She is also a past president of the Wayne County Medical Society The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association operating as the voice of all physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
