The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) urges participating physicians to review their 2022 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) feedback reports no later than October 9, 2023. Physicians can view their 2022 MIPS Performance Feedback information on the Quality Payment Program (QPP) website using their HCQIS Access Role and Profile (HARP) credentials.
Your 2022 final score determines the payment adjustment (positive, negative, or neutral) you will receive in 2024. This adjustment will be applied to the Medicare paid amount for covered professional services furnished in 2024. For the first time since the program started, physicians are facing the possibility of MIPS penalties in 2024. Therefore, it is extremely important for you to view your MIPS feedback report as soon as possible. If you believe there’s an error in the calculation of your MIPS payment adjustment factor(s), consider submitting an appeal (a.k.a., a targeted review).
