On Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 5:00 pm CT (6:00 pm ET) WPS will hold the Combined J5 & J8 Contractor Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting for committee members wishing to provide input concerning Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) that are currently in the development process. The public is invited to observe in a listen-only capacity.
WPS hosts CAC meetings to provide an avenue for healthcare professionals to promote communication between the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) and the healthcare community. The CAC is composed of physicians, beneficiary representatives, and representatives of medical organizations. The CAC is advisory in nature and consults with the MAC, to review and discuss evidence used in developing LCDs. We will include the summary of recommendations from the CAC members regarding the policy in the Final LCD.
Policies to be discussed will be MolDX: Genetic Testing for Heritable Thoracic Aortic Disease and MolDX: Molecular Testing for Identification and Management of Hereditary Transthyretin Amyloidosis.
The Proposed/Draft Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) are available on the Medicare Coverage Database (MCD). The Open Comment period will begin on 09/26/2024. WPS will accept comments until 12/06/2024.
