An uptick in respiratory viruses is a valuable reminder of the importance of vaccination. As patients present to the office, it is important that we recommend and offer vaccination, not only for currently circulating viruses such as influenza and COVID-19, but for all other vaccine preventable diseases as well. The standards for pediatric and adult immunization practice call on ALL healthcare professionals – whether they provide vaccinations or not – to take steps to help ensure that their patients are fully immunized.
